Parks Department – Northern Manhattan
Northern Manhattan Parks is composed of more than 500 acres of city parkland north of 155th Street. Its largest parks are:
Inwood Hill Park Nature Center
A building that was originally designed as a boathouse in the 1940’s was converted into a Nature Center for Manhattan’s only accessible salt marsh and native forest.
The center houses an interactive exhibits area, an Urban Park Ranger Station and a green house to grow plants for the restoration of the marsh and forest.
